Red Raven Volleyball Earns 21st Victory of Year With 3-1 Defeat of Seminole St.

Seminole, Okla. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Volleyball Team traveled to Seminole Oklahoma, and won their fifth match in a row and 21st overall with a 3-1 defeat of Seminole State College.  With the victory, the Red Ravens' overall record moves to 21-7 including a 4-3 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups.  The 4-3 KJCCC record has the Red Ravens sitting in fourth place in the ten-team KJCCC East.

Against Seminole State, Coffeyville dropped the first set 25-20 and then was able to rally and power through three straight sets 25-23, 25-19, and 25-17 to earn the victory over the Raiders of Seminole State.

Red Raven freshman Sarah Madsen led the Ravens with a kill/dig double-double of 17 and 11.  Sophomore Nicole Soto also hit double digits of kills with 10.  Coffeyville's freshman libero Patience Whittaker led the team with 31 digs.  Defensively, along with Whittaker, the Red Ravens had four other players with 10 or more digs.  Freshman Taylor Burns had 15 digs, freshman Alexcia Jones had 14, and freshman Allyssa Apel and Madsen both posted 11 digs.

Coffeyville will return to action on Wednesday, October 12th with a home matchup scheduled against Friends JV.  First serve is scheduled in Nellis East at 6:00 pm.
