Raven Volleyball Ends Regular Season With 3-1 Defeat of Fort Scott, Qualifies for Postseason

Coffeyville, Kan. -  The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Volleyball Team ended their 2021 regular season with a 3-1 defeat of the Fort Scott Greyhounds.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 18-20 including a 4-6 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matches.  The 4-6 KJCCC record placed Coffeyville seventh in the eleven-team KJCCC East standings.  With that finish, Coffeyville qualifies as the eighth seed in the 2021-22 NJCAA Division II Plains District A Volleyball Tournament.  As the eighth seed, Coffeyville will play the #1 NJCAA ranked Cowley College.

CCC recognized their volleyball sophomores in a ceremony prior to the game.  Pictures of those athletes can be found in photos attached to this game.  

Starting the game, the Red Ravens opened up nicely against the Greyhounds of Fort Scott, winning the first set 25-15.  Coffeyville lost focus in the second set, dropping it to Fort Scott by a 25-10 score.  However, the Ravens regained their focus and took the last two sets 25-18 and 25-21 to earn the 3-1 set victory over Fort Scott.

Top performers in the victory for Coffeyville included sophomore Hannah Armstrong with 15 kills, sophomore Heather Stiles with 22 assists, and sophomore Paola Molina with 19 digs.

Coffeyville will move to the postseason where the #8 seeded Red Ravens (18-20) will play the #1 seeded Cowley College (34-0) at Arkansas City Kansas on November 3rd at 1 pm.
