Teixeira & Reid Earn KJCCC Player of the Year Honors, Total of 7 Raven Women Soccer Players Earn KJCC All-Conference Honors

The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) East Division I Player of the Year Awards and All-Conference Teams were announced and the Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team was well represented.  Coffeyville swept the top two player awards with Thayline Teixeira earning the KJCCC East Player of the Year honor and Shyanne Reid earning the Defensive Player of the Year award.  After Teixeira and Reid, five other Red Ravens' earned All-Conference Honors.

Player of the Year – Thayline Teixeira (Coffeyville)
Thayline Teixeira was a key component of Coffeyville's success this season in being the main focus of defenses, finding the net 14 times while distributing to her teammates and setting up another 10 goals. Accounting for 38 total points, Teixeira ranked second in the East and fourth overall helping the Red Ravens to a 9-3-1 conference mark and 14-4-2 overall record. A regular nominee for the conference player of the week award, Teixeira won the award in week four with a three-goal and an assist pair of victories. 

Defensive Player of the Year – Shyanne Reid (Coffeyville)
A first-team defender last year, Reid continued her defensive prowess in anchoring the backline to eight shutout victories, placing second in the East at 9-3-1 conference mark and 14-4-2 overall record after a season-ending scoreless 14-round shutout at 15th ranked Barton. Offensively Reid was also a big contributor to the team's success in scoring two goals and dishing out three assists for seven total points. 


Red Raven sophomore Catriona Burns was selected as the Goalkeeper on the KJCCC First Team All-Conference Team.  Burns saved 57 shots while allowing 18 goals on the year for a save percentage of 76%.


Red Ravens sophomore Alia Jaidi was selected as a forward on the KJCCC East Second-Team All-Conference Team.  Jaidi scored 7 goals for the Ravens this year including 3 game-winners.


Coffeyville freshman Veronica Calixto earned a forward spot on the KJCCC East Second-Team All-Conference Team.  Calixto scored 7 goals and 3 assists on the season including 3 game-winning goals. 


Raven sophomore Grace Higgins earned a midfielder spot on the KJCCC East Second-Team All-Conference Team.  Higgins was a force as a midfielder scoring a goal including a game-winner on the season.


Coffeyville sophomore Riley Palmer earned a nod as a defender on the KJCCC East Second-Team All-Conference Team.  From her defender position, Palmer had two assists on the season for the Red Ravens.
