Red Ravens Earn 12th Victory with 2-1 Defeat of KCK

Kansas City, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team traveled to Kansas City Kansas Community College and came away with a 2-1 victory.  With the victory, Coffeyville's overall record improves to 12-4-1 including an 8-3-1 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference matchups.  The 8-3-1 KJCCC record currently has the Red Ravens in second place in the five-team KJCCC East division.

The Blue Devils of KCK jumped on the board first with a goal sixteen minutes into the first half to take a 1-0 lead.  Coffeyville answered a few minutes later with freshman Veronica Calixto taking a pass from freshman Thayline Teixeira and placing it in the back of the net to bring the Red Ravens even with the Blue Devils at 1-1.  

Twenty-five minutes into the second half, the Red Ravens pulled ahead with sophomore Alia Jaidi netting a goal with an assist from freshman Polly Hogg to put Coffeyville ahead 2-1.  The Red Ravens' defense held and Coffeyville had the 2-1 victory.  Raven sophomore goalkeeper Catriona Burns faced three shots on goal saving two.

Coffeyville will return to home Veterans Memorial Stadium to face the Panthers of Neosho County on Saturday, October 22nd with the opening kick-off set for 6:00 pm.
