Saturday, Sept 3rd - Ravens defeat Laramie County CC 3-0

The lady ravens traveled to a neutral site to play #14 Laramie county community college. The match was an epic battle throughout the 1st half with both teams trading chances.

Coffeyville sophomores Caterina La Manna, and Shy Reid anchored the defense snuffing out all the Laramie attacks. The first half ended with both teams scoreless.

The second half was all about the Red Ravens' pressure and creating chances. Red Raven sophomore Julia Mullins put a perfect cross in from the left flank and found freshman Emelly Nezi in the box for a flick-on header that beat the keeper for the first goal of the match.

Nezi wasn't done though, and five minutes later she received a ball from freshman Thayline Teixeira just outside the 18-yard box. Nezi beat her defender and struck the ball to net her second goal of the day.

The scoring wasn't done as sophomore Shery Saaduldin won the ball in the midfield and slotted Teixeira in behind the defense where she beat the keeper for the game's final score.

Cat Burns had six saves on the day and she and Ollie Thompson combined for the team's fourth clean sheet of five matches.

Monday, Sept 5th - Ravens defeat St Charles CC 4-0

CCC women hosted St. Charles CC on Monday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

This was the Ravens' second game in three days but the ladies were up to the task.

The first half was all Ravens with the Ladies controlling much of the run of play. Raven sophomore Alia Jaidi netted the first goal of the game as she collected a deflected pass from sophomore Sheryssa Saadulin and lifted the ball over the keeper and into the back of the net.

The second goal came off some brilliant build-up from the Ravens' attack. Freshman Nathalia Luiz was able to beat a defender and find Thayline Teixeira streaking into the box where she punched in the game's second goal. Later in the half, Teixeira returned the favor by finding

Luiz in the seam and assisting her for her first goal of the season.

The Lady Ravens were up Three nil at the half and continued to control the run of play throughout the second half.  Saadulin scored the game's fourth and final goal when she curled a dangerous ball into the box off the corner kick.

This was the Ravens' fifth clean sheet in six matches. Alessandra Thompson  (3 Saves) and Hannah Kemp combined to keep the opposition scoreless. The Red Raven defense was strong with class performances from Riley Palmer, Shyanne Reid, Sheryssa Saadulin, Caterina LaManna, Julia Mullins, and Bethany Brogan.

The Ravens will return to action on Saturday, September 10th with a home match against the Conquistadors of Dodge City.  Kick-off in Veterans Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 11:00 am.
