The Lady Red Ravens have a good history of starting off games strong, and the Dodge City game was no exception. Just one minute into the game, sophomore Louise Atkinson made a great run down the wing, dribbled past her defender, and crossed the ball into the box. Sophomore Rachael Manley made a great near post run and with a one-time finish, put the ball into the back of the net. Dodge City responded well by scoring their equalizer just one minute later.

 

For the remainder of the first half Coffeyville had the majority of possession and continued to create chances. Just before the end of the first half Coffeyville found their second goal. Freshman Ashleigh Sweat collected the ball on top of the 18 and dribbled towards the goal. Sweat made her way inside the box and took the ball around the goalkeeper. Sophomore Nicki Sparks got away from her mark on the wing and smashed the loose ball into the back of the net. The Lady Red Ravens went into halftime with a 2-1 lead. 

 

Coffeyville continued to keep possession in the second half and force Dodge City to defend. The front five of the Lady Red Ravens created many chances but were unable to put the ball past the goalkeeper. In the 75th minute sophomore Rachael Manley picked up the ball in the midfield and drove it towards goal. She put a dangerous ball into the box that Louise Atkinson got on the end of. Atkinson took a clinical strike on goal that the goalkeeper had no chance of saving. The Lady Red Ravens backline finished the last 15 minutes strong and kept Dodge City from taking shots on goal. Coffeyville finished the game with the 3-1 win.
