Red Raven Women's Soccer Lose First Match of Season

The Coffeyville Community College Women's Soccer team hosted the Iowa Central Tritons on Sunday (Sept 8) afternoon at Veteran's Memorial Stadium.

The Red Ravens came into the match riding high on a 5-0 early season winning streak.  However, the winning streak came to an end with the Tritons earning the victory over the Red Ravens, 5-3.

Iowa Central jumped out quickly on the Red Ravens, banging in 5 early scores to put the Ravens into a 5-0 hole.  Coffeyville though would not go quietly and battled back to pull the score to a close 5-3 at the final whistle.

Raven sophomore forward Christine Kitaru Kag logged the first two goals of the game for the Red Ravens, with sophomore mid fielder Ashley Talley securing the third goal for Coffeyville.  Freshmen forward Louise Atkinson was busy providing the assists to both Kitaru Kag and Talley on the scored goals.

The loss moves Coffeyville to 5-1 on the season.  The Red Ravens will return to action on Wednesday, September 11th with a home conference matchup with the Red Devils of Allen County.  Gametime is set at Veteran's Memorial Stadium for 5:00 pm.
