The Coffeyville Red Raven Womens soccer team played Johnson County on the road on Saturday. The Red Ravens came out strong from the very start netting their first goal within the first five minutes of the game. Ashley Talley would slot a pass through to Christine Kitaru who would place a shot past the Johnson goalkeeper to make it 1-0. Johnson would make it 1-1 less than 15 minutes later. Liz Palmer would send a pass through to Cortlyn Ash who would slot the ball passed the Raven goalkeeper making it 1-1. Johnson would go up 2-1 with 60 minutes gone in the match. A tackle in the penalty box gave the Cavaliers a PK. Monique Diaz would slot the ball home from the penalty spot making it 2-1 for JCCC. The red ravens would come back in the 70th minute of the game. Christine Kitaru would get back on the stat sheet once again. A pass from Isabelle Attenborough would give a through ball to Kitaru who would slot the ball home once again making it 2-2. With 13 minutes left in the game the Cavaliers would be awarded a corner. A low cross found the feet of Georgia Vernardakis who would slot the ball into the bottom left corner to make it 3-2. The Cavaliers would add one more goal in the 80th minute. A pass by Hannah Leimkuhler would pick out Kathryn Baier who would place the ball into the net to make it 4-2. The Red Ravens would continue on the attack however could not find the net. The game finished 4-2 in favor of Johnson. The Red Ravens are back in action September 26th at home against KCK.
