Dierker and Musser Compete at NJCAA Women's National Meet

Julia Dierker and Cheyenne Musser have wrapped up play at the 2016 NJCAA Women's National Golf Championship held May 16-19 at the LPGA International in Daytonal Beach, Fla. The final round on Thursday was canceled due to rain, reducing the tournament to a 54-hole championship.

Dierker placed 51st indivually at the tournament. Over 100 golfers competed at the national meet. Dierker shot an opening round of 94 before bouncing back to shoot back-to-back rounds of 87 and 85 for a 54-hole total of 266.

Musser was 75th overall. Musser fired a 90 in her opening round on Tuesday. Musser then shot rounds of 94 and 102 to finish with a total of 286.

"I believe Julia and Cheyenne competed very well at the national tournament at the LPGA International in Daytona, Florida," said Coffeyville Red Raven Golf Coach Aaron Reeves. "They did a good job of handling a very difficult golf course. They both played great on their final round, unfortunately that round was not counted due to the afternoon tee times being rained out and they called  the tournament after three rounds of competition."

"I wish Julia the best of luck at UAFS next year, and Cheyenne capped off a good freshman season and gained some momentum towards next season," added Reeves.

Dierker is a sophomore from Bixby, Okla., who has signed with the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Musser is a freshman from Sapulpa, Okla.
