Liberal, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Basketball Team grabbed a road KJCCC victory with a 63-60 victory over the Saints of Seward County.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall 2022 record to 17-10 including an 11-10 mark in the all-important Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) contests.  The 11-10 KJCCC mark currently has Coffeyville sitting in eighth place in the KJCCC Div I standings.  

In this game, Coffeyville's Faith Simpson came hard from the start to set the tone and allowed the Red Ravens to play the majority of the game with the lead.  Coffeyville jumped out to 12-2 lead four minutes into the game with Simpson scoring 10 of the 12 points.  The Ravens were able to outscore Seward 17-10 in the first quarter.  The strong start allowed Coffeyville to lead for most of the game, however, the Saints pulled ahead in the fourth quarter to take a 56-52 lead with a little over three minutes to play in the game.  Simpson powered the victory home for Coffeyville scoring four points in the final ten seconds of the game to help seal the 63-60 victory for the Red Ravens.

Game leaders for Coffeyville included Simpson who was able to score 19 points and grab 10 rebounds for the double double.  Devin Wright and Nakia Cullom each contributed 8 points in the victory.

Coffeyville will be back in action on Monday, February 21st with a home matchup scheduled against the Beavers of Pratt Community College.  Tip-off in Nellis Hall is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
