Arkansas City, Kan. - The #25 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Basketball Team opened up their 2021-22 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) schedule with a road game against the Cowley College Tigers.  The Lady Ravens defeated the Tigers to earn their first KJCCC victory of the season.  With the victory, Coffeyville's overall record moves to a perfect 7-0 including a 1-0 record in KJCCC games.

The Lady Ravens offense started out a little slow in this one with the Tigers outscoring the Ravens in the first quarter 20-13.  However, Coffeyville picked up the offense over the last three quarters, especially outscoring Cowley in the fourth quarter 21-13 to put a bow on the 69-62 victory.

The game stats also show a slight edge to Coffeyville in almost all the major statistical areas.  Coffeyville led in field goal percentage 39%-35%, free throws 70%-55%, and rebounds 32-30.  A major stat that says a lot about the dept of Coffeyville is "Bench Points".  The Lady Ravens bench outscored Cowley's by a 27-9 margin.

The Ravens had three players in double figures.  Sophomore forward starter Faith Simpson led the way with 19 points and 7 rebounds.  Second-year freshman Nakia Cullom led the bench players with 18 points while drilling 8 of 12 field goals.  Second-year freshman guard Paige Scott rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.

Coffeyville's KJCCC schedule keeps them on the road as they will travel out to Garden City Kansas for their next matchup. The Lady Ravens will play the Broncbusters on Saturday, November 20th.  Tipoff in Garden City is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
