Red Raven Women Defeat Allen 70-51, Turner Earns 300th Victory

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Women's Basketball team defeated the Allen County Red Devils 70-51.  The win improves the Red Raven's overall record to 11-4 including a 10-4 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) record.  The 10-4 conference mark has Coffeyville in second place in the seven-team KJCCC East division.

With big first and third quarters the Ravens had control of the game throughout and cruised to the 70-51 victory.

Coffeyville was led by freshman Paige Scott with 14 points.  Raven sophomore center Faith Simpson came strong with a 12 point 14 rebound double-double and freshman Makenzie Davis pitched in 11 points.

The big story from this one is that head Red Raven's women's basketball coach Tony Turner earned his 300th career coaching victory with the win.

Coach Turner started his collegiate coaching career coaching ironically enough at Allen County Community College where he coached the 2006 season.  He then moved to Independence Community College where he coached the women's team from 2007 through the 2013 season.  Turner then took over the ICC men's team and coached them from 2014 through 2019.  The last two years he has moved over to the good side of the county in coaching the Red Raven women's team.  Through the years and different teams, he has now amassed a record of 300 wins and 184 losses (.613 win %).
