Red Raven Cross Country Opens 2020 Season

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Cross Country teams opened up their 2020 season this past Friday, September 4th at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic hosted by Hutchinson Community College.  The Classic was held at Fun Valley in Hutchinson KS with the event being run under the lights.

The evening opened up with a women's 3-mile race.  Coffeyville had four runners competing with sophomore Brittany Reece leading the way for the Red Ravens placing 31st (out of 50) with a time of 21:44.  The remaining three runners for Coffeyville were all freshmen with Tania Tronchez placing 44th (25:51), Achai Arop placing 49th (29:03) and Kadija Soumaoro placing 49th (30:02).

Coffeyville's women were one runner short of earning a team score, however, Cloud County won the team award for the women (35 points) with Cowley placing 2nd (52 pts) out of 5 teams scored.  

The men's race competed over a 4-mile distance with the Red Ravens placing 7 runners in the results.  Sophomore Raymond Bueno paced the Red Ravens placing 45th (out of 68) with a time of 24:27.  Other Red Raven finishers include; freshman Larson Hoggatt 48th (24:52), sophomore Terrance Brown 62nd (27:09), freshman Isaiah Barber 63rd (27:50), freshman Trent Guidry 64th (28:34). freshman Kaneal Cooper 66th (29:33) and freshman Zefeniah Edwards 68th (30:29).

Coffeyville's men placed 8th (233 pts) as a team in the 8 team event.  Allen won the team award with 49 points with Cowley placing 2nd (57 pts).
