Red Raven Track & Field Compete at Region VI/KJCCC Outdoor Championships

Garden City, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's & Women's Track and Field Teams competed this past weekend at the Region VI/KJCCC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Garden City Community College.  

The Red Raven Men's team placed 3rd in Region VI with 107 points and in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East division they placed 3rd with 165 points.  Cloud County won the Region VI Men's title with 133 points and Cowley College won the KJCCC East with 210.5 points.

Coffeyville's Women's team placed 12th in Region VI with 20 points and 6th in the KJCCC East with 64 points.  Following their men's team, Cloud County also won the Women's Region VI title with 200 points and Cowley also won the KJCCC Women's East with 219.5 points.

Coffeyville had four athletes win seven Conference titles and two Region VI titles.

Sophomore Achai Arop won the KJCCC East title in the women's 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:06.30.

Sophomore Timothy Johnson won the KJCCC East & Region VI titles in the Men's High Jump with a jump of 2.02m (6'7.5).

Sophomore Treyvon Ferguson won KJCCC East titles in Men's Triple Jump and Long Jump along with a Region VI Title in the Triple Jump.  Ferguson had jumps of 7.32m (24' 0.25") in the Long Jump and 15.00m (49'2.5") in the Triple Jump.

Sophomore Dennis Ohene-Adu won KJCCC East titles in the Men's Discus, the Men's Shot, and the Men's Hammer Throw.  Ohene-Adu had throws of 48.90m (160'5") in the discus, 16.79m (55'1") in the shot, and 49.82m (163'5") in the hammer.

The Red Ravens will end their season with the 2022 NJCAA Outdoor Championships being held in Hutchinson Kansas on May 19-21st.
