Red Raven Men's Track Place 6th at NJCAA Indoors, Evans & Ohene-Adu Win National Titles

Pittsburg, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Men's Track and Field Team placed sixth with 45 points at the 2022 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.  

On Friday, Red Raven sophomore Dennis Ohene-Adu won the NJCAA Indoor Shot Put National Championship with a toss of 18.33 meters (60'1.5"), missing the Raven school record by 2 cm.  Ohene-Adu also scored in the Men's Weight Throw, placing 5th with a throw of 16.24 meters.

On Saturday, sophomore Antoine Evans won the NJCAA Indoor 200m title with a time of 20.84.  This broke Former Red Raven and 2020 Olympic 200m Gold Medalist Andre DeGrasse's record of 20.99.  Evans also placed 3rd in the Men's 60m with a time of 6.64 seconds.

Other Red Ravens scoring at the NJCAA Indoor Championships included:

Sophomore Nolton Shelvin placed 4th in 60m with a time of 6.66
Sophomore Dakari Charlton placed 7th in 60m with a time of 6.77 and also placed 8th in the 200m with a time of 21.47
Sophomore Calvin Bostic placed 8th in Shot Put with a distance of 15.47m
Sophomore Garrian Betts placed 3rd in Triple Jump with a distance of 15.26m
