Red Raven Men's Soccer Travel to KCK and Earn 2-0 Victory to End Regular Season As KJCCC East Champions

Kansas City, Kan. - The #12 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Soccer Team ended their 2021 regular season with a 2-0 road victory over Kansas City Kansas Community College.  With the victory, the Red Ravens ended the 2021 regular season with an overall record of 15-1-1 including an 8-1-1 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) record.  The 8-1-1 KJCCC record won the KJCCC East title for the Ravens.  The 2021 KJCCC East Championship is the second in a row for Coffeyville after winning the 2020 title played in the spring last year due to Covid.

The Ravens came out against KCK with an intensity that showed from the start.  Thirty-three minutes into the match, Raven sophomore Nicolaus Stoddart opened up the scoring taking Raven sophomore Aleksandar Mihaylov's assist and drilling it into the back of the net to give Coffeyville the 1-0 lead.  Barely eight minutes later, Raven freshman Christian Miranda-Cordeiro took an assist from Raven sophomore Pedro Branco and netted another goal, extending the Raven lead out to 2-0.

The rest of the match saw Coffeyville's backline and defense play masterfully in not allowing the Blue Devil's of KCK any signs of life and the match ended with the 2-0 victory for Coffeyville.  KCK only had three shots on goal the entire match and Coffeyville's sophomore goalkeeper Cuba Grant swatted away all three shots to earn the shutout.

With being the 2021 KJCCC East Champions, the Red Ravens will open up the Region VI playoffs by hosting an opening-round match.  Coffeyville will host Garden City (KJCCC #4 West) in the opening round of the Region VI Championships on Monday, November 1st.  The kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 pm in Veterans Memorial Stadium.
