Tenth Win of Season Comes in 2-1 Overtime Victory Over Dodge City

Coffeyville, Kan. - The #9 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Soccer Team used all of regulation and a little bit of overtime to defeat the Conquistadors of Dodge City 2-1.  With the victory, Coffeyville's 2021 overall record improves to 10-0-1 including a 5-0-1 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matches.  The 5-0-1 KJCCC record has the Red Ravens in first place in the KJCCC Div I East standings.

Coffeyville freshman forward Christian Miranda-Cordeiro broke open the scoring in the first half by taking a Tiago Dias assist and placing it in the back of the net to give Coffeyville a 1-0 lead at the 38:00 mark of the first half.

With Coffeyville holding the 1-0 lead in the second half, Dodge City netted the equalizer at the 20-minute mark of the second half to knot up the score at 1-1.  The last 25 minutes of the half saw both teams scrambling for an advantage but neither team was able to net the game-winner.

The Red Ravens finally broke through barely one minute into overtime with sophomore defender Tiago Dias taking an Aleksandar Mihaylov assist and ending the game with a beautiful overtime game-winning goal.

Coffeyville will look to add its next win when they travel up to Overland Park Kansas where they will play the Cavaliers of Johnson County.  Game time is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6th at 7:00 pm.
