Sophomore Nicolaus Stoddart kicked off the scoring for the Red Ravens. Sophomore Daniel Gomes served a great corner kick into the box that was first won by Sophomore Tahj Hilton. Hilton redirected the ball towards Stoddart who was the first to react to the second ball. Stoddart saw his first shot saved but he buried the rebound to put Coffeyville up 1-0.

Fifteen minutes later, Coffeyville earned their second goal of the match through Hilton. It was another beautiful set piece from the Red Ravens. Coffeyville again was the first team to react to the second ball in the box. Hilton's first shot was stopped, but he made no mistake with the rebound and slotted his chance into the corner of the net. The Red Ravens defended well and went into the half with a 2-0 lead.

Coming out of the half, the Blue Devils looked to get themselves back into the match. Ten minutes into the second half, the Blue Devils scored their first goal. KCK increased their intensity after getting a goal back in search of their equalizer. Coffeyville kept their heads up and looked to score the next goal to swing the match back into their favor.

Fifteen minutes after getting scored on, Coffeyville would score the go-ahead goal. Freshman Jack Greenwood linked up with fellow freshman Richie Bailey. Greenwood drove the ball dangerously towards the byline and served a perfect cross towards the front post. The Blue Devils did well to not throw in the towel and they would get another goal back 5 minutes later. Coffeyville led 3-2 with fifteen minutes remaining, and the Blue Devils did everything possible to find their equalizer. KCKCC would tie the game up to make it a 3-3 score, scoring in the last few seconds of the match.

After two 10-minute overtime periods, the score remained 3-3 and ended in a draw.
