Red Raven Men's Golfer Braden Smith Shoots a 4-Round 290 (+2) To Place in a Tie for 24th at NJCAA Nationals

Newton, KS - Coffeyville Community College Red Raven men's freshman golfer Braden Smith qualified to compete in the 2023 NJCAA Men's Division I Golf National Championship held at Sand Creek Station Golf Course, May 16-19,  in Newton Kansas. 

Over the four days, Smith carded a four-round score of 290 (+2) (69, 72, 72, 77) to place in a tie for 24th place in the National Championships.  Smith's 24th placing is the highest for a Red Raven Golfer at the NJCAA National Championship in over 35 years.

When asked about Braden, Coffeyville Community College Head Golf Coach Conner Murrell said that "I am super proud of him and all the situations he had to overcome to get to the National Championships.  This is only just the start to his amazing collegiate career and I am looking forward to seeing what he does next." 

Red Raven Men's Golf ended the season with a 10th place finish at the NJCAA Central District Tournament with Braden Smith winning the District Tournament Championship individual honor as well as the 24th finish at the National Championships.
