Men's Sophomore Night Sees #19 Red Ravens Defeat Pratt 87-74

Coffeyville, Kan. - On a night when Coffeyville honored their men's basketball sophomores, the #19 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team defeated the Pratt Beavers 87-74.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 22-6 including a 16-6 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference matchups.  The 16-6 KJCCC record currently has the Ravens in second place in the KJCCC Division I standings, just one game out of first place with two games left to play in the regular season.

Prior to the game, the Red Raven men's basketball team honored their sophomores with a ceremony.  The sophomores honored were Hayden Brittingham from Fort Worth TX, Jordan Wildy from Rock Hill SC, Nathan Johnson from Kansas City KS, and Al-Housseny Diallo from Bamako Mali.

After the sophomore ceremony, the actual game was one about revenge.  Earlier in the season the Ravens had suffered a road loss at the hands of Pratt and tonight was a night to get a little payback...and payback is what the Ravens got.

Through the first half, the Red Ravens built a nine-point 44-35 lead going into halftime.  In the second half, Coffeyville sustained their momentum and won going away with the 87-74 score.  For the game, Coffeyville outshot Pratt 48% to 40%.  At times throughout the season, turnovers have been a problem for the Ravens, but tonight Coffeyville had them under control only committing 12.

Coffeyville had four players in double figures including sophomore Jordan Wildy with 17 points and 8 rebounds.  Sophomore Hayden Brittingham had 16 points and 7 rebounds along with freshman Landon Glasper who pitched in 14 points.  Freshman Javarzia Belton just missed out on the double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Coffeyville returns to action on Saturday, February 25th as they will host the Seward County Saints.  Tip-off in Nellis Hall is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
