#18 Red Ravens Withstands Hutchinson's Pressure to Cruise to 90-68 Victory

Coffeyville, Kan. - #18 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens Men's Basketball Team won their 20th game of the season as they defeated the Hutchinson Blue Dragons 90-68.  In the victory, the Red Ravens improved their 2023 overall record to 20-5 including a 14-5 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) games.  The 14-5 KJCCC mark currently has the Ravens in second place in the 13-team KJCCCC Division I conference standings.

The Red Ravens jumped out early building an 18-4 lead just seven minutes into the game.  Hutchinson plays a full-court-pressure type defensive game and Coffeyville was able to maneuver the full-court pressure from the start while making the Blue Dragons pay early with multiple easy buckets after breaking the press.  Coffeyville scored 46 points in the first half as they went into halftime with a 46-32 lead.

Hutchinson closed within 48-41 early in the second half, however, Coffeyville then pulled back away and finished the Blue Dragons off winning by a score of 90-68.

Coffeyville had five players in double figures on the night including sophomore Jordan Wildy with 24 points and 7 rebounds, freshman guard Sotirios Nafpliotis with 17 points, sophomore forward Hayden Brittingham with 14 points and 7 rebounds, sophomore guard Nathan Johnson with 11 points and 7 rebounds, and freshman guard Landon Glasper with 10 points.

Next up for the Red Ravens will be a short drive north as they are scheduled to play the Pirates of Independence on Saturday, February 11th.  Tip-off in Indy is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
