Coffeyville, Kan. - The #11 NJCAA-ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team defeated the#22 ranked Barton Cougars 85-77.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improve their 2022-23 overall record to 10-2 including a 4-2 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) games.

This KJCCC matchup was a back-and-forth with each team putting in runs throughout the foul-filled contest.  The first run of the game was the Cougars of Barton jumping out quickly building a 19-7 lead over the Red Ravens just five minutes into the game.  Coffeyville responded with a 16-4 run of their own to tie the game up at 23-23 at the 8:27 mark of the first half.  The rest of the first half had both teams staying close and the Red Ravens taking a slim 40-38 lead into halftime.

The first nine minutes of the second half saw neither team able to gain more than a point or two lead over the other.  However, over the next six minutes of game time, Coffeyville built a nine-point 71-62 lead with 5:30 remaining in the game.  Barton pulled with six points with 1:50 remaining but Red Raven freshman guard Landon Glasper sank an elbow jumper with 28 seconds remaining to push the lead back out to eight.  Coffeyville sank some late free throws and the Ravens had the 85-77 victory.

A total of 50 fouls were called in a physical game with 28 being called on Coffeyville and 22 called on Barton.  Coffeyville led Barton in shooting with the Ravens shooting 54% overall and 36% from behind the 3-point arc.  Barton was held to 38% overall and 26% from the three-point line.  Coffeyville's size led to a sizeable advantage in rebounding as the Ravens grabbed 48 to Barton's 34.

The Ravens were led by Glasper who had a game-high 21 points on 6-13 shooting overall including 3-4 from behind the arc.  Sophomore forward Jordan Wildy continued his excellent early-season play for the Ravens with an 18 points 11 rebound double-double.

Coffeyville will return to the court on Wednesday, December 7th with a road game at Hutchinson.  Tip-off against the Blue Dragons is set for 7:30 pm.
