Jordan Wildy's Double-Double Leads #6 Red Ravens in a 98-83 Defeat of Colby

Colby, Kan. - The #6 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team defeated the Trojans of Colby Community College 98-83.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 9-1 including a 3-1 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) games.

Coffeyville came to Colby fresh off their first loss of the season as they dropped an overtime game (110-100) against #22 Dodge City on Tuesday night (Nov 22) in Dodge City.

Against Colby, Coffeyville never seemed to be in peril.  The Red Ravens did trail by five points (27-22) midway through the first half, but quickly turned the ship around pulling ahead 31-29 at the 7:48 mark of the first half and then not trailing again for the remainder of the game.

The Ravens outshoot the Trojans 64% to 46% and had a better percentage from behind the 3-point line 41% to 27%.  Coffeyville also outrebounded Colby 30 to 22.  One area that the Ravens may need to clean up going forward is turnovers where Coffeyville had 19 to Colby's 12.

Sophomore forward Jordan Wildy led the Ravens with a 22-point 11 rebound double-double.  Four other Red Ravens were in double-figure scoring including freshman Hayden Brittingham with 21 points, freshman Sotirios Nafpliotis with 17, freshman Landon Glasper with 11, and sophomore Nathan Johnson with 10 points. Raven freshman guard Amare Haynie had a team-high 5 assists.

Coffeyville will return to Nellis Hall on Wednesday, November 30th as they will face the Grizzlies of Butler Community College.  Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm in Nellis Hall.
