Second Half Surge Pushes Red Raven Men Over Pratt 90-69

Coffeyville, Kan. - With a second-half surge, the Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team defeated the Beavers of Pratt Community College 90-69.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improve their overall season record to 7-8 including a 4-5 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference record.

Go figure that adding a couple of starters back into the mix would equate out to some victories.  With the addition of starters AJ McBride and Blaise Keita, who were both injured early in the season, back onto the court the Red Ravens have now won both of their games starting out in 2022.

Against Pratt, Coffeyville started out a little sluggish only holding a 33-31 halftime lead after shooting 30% in the first half.  The second half saw the Red Ravens up the shooting percentage to 51% and outscore the Beavers 57-38 in the second half to post the 90-69 victory.

In his second game back from injury, Red Raven center Blaise Keita announced his return with authority leading Coffeyville with 24 points and 8 rebounds.  Guards Love Bettis and Dayshawn Wiley followed up with 16 and 12 points respectively.  The Ravens hit 10 of 26 threes in the game for a 38% 3 point shooting percentage.

Next up for the Ravens will be a home game on Wednesday, January 12th against the Saints of Seward County.  Game time in Nellis Hall is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
