#10 Red Ravens Defeat Georgia Christian 59-0

Coffeyville, Kan. - The #10 NJCAA-ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Football Team easily dispatched the Knights of Georgia Christian Institute 59-0.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 5-2 on the season.

The Red Ravens jumped out early and often in this one leading 17-0 after the first quarter and 45-0 at halftime.  Coffeyville tacked on a touchdown in each of the third and fourth quarters to reach the final 59-0 tally.

Sophomore running back Dorian Lewis got the Red Ravens on the scoreboard first with a 15-yard touchdown run to cap off Coffeyville's opening drive.  Sophomore Forrest Taylor hit the extra point and the Ravens lead 7-0 just three minutes into the game.

Coffeyville's second possession of the game ended with freshman Romal Webb diving across for a 2-yard touchdown.  Taylor's extra point was good and the Ravens pushed ahead 14-0.

After a quick three and out by Georgia Christian, Coffeyville's third possession ended with a Taylor 38-yard field goal through the uprights to extend out to 17-0.

The second quarter was an offensive explosion with Coffeyville opening the quarter with a 14-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Isaiah Velez to freshman Jaiden Dozier, sophomore Owen Lawson with the extra point to go up 24-0.  Red Raven sophomore defensive back Bishop Fitzgerald had his second scoop and score of the season scooping up a Georgia Christian fumble and racing 31 yards to the end zone.  Lawson was again good on the extra point and the Ravens led 31-0.  Sophomore Red Raven quarterback JR Martin capped off the second quarter throwing touchdown passes of 18-yards and 10-yards to sophomore Andrew Schnackenburg and freshman Cardrece Mobley.  Lawson's extra point was good on the first touchdown pass and sophomore Ike Prengel's extra point was good on the second.

Coffeyville went into halftime with a 45-0 lead.

The second-half scoring by the Ravens was taken care of by freshman running back Ozarrio Smith who had a 29-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and a 43-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.  Taylor made the extra point in the third quarter and Pregnel made the extra point in the fourth quarter.  The final score posted as Coffeyville 59, Georgia Christian 0.

Looking at the box score, Coffeyville had 19 first downs to Georgia Christian's 4, total offense was Coffeyville 368 yards to Georgia Christian's -23.  Coffeyville rolled up 265 yards on the ground to Georgia Christians' -41.

A big KJCCC showdown looms this coming weekend as #10 Coffeyville will travel to the #6 ranked Butler Grizzlies.  Gametime in El Dorado Kansas on Saturday, October 29th is set for 7:00 pm.
