Raven QB Jakson Thomson Earns KJCCC Player of the Week Honor

Coffeyville, Independence, and Hutchinson all registered big victories last week during Week #4 of the KJCCC football season. All three schools landed KJCCC Football Player of the Week honors.

Coffeyville quarterback Jakson Thomson was the league's Offensive Player of the Week. Linebacker Tra Thomas played a huge role as now-No. 2 Independence defeated then-No. 3 Garden City and earned Defensive Player of the Week. Hutchinson kicker C.J. Moya was tapped as the league's Special Teams Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Jakson Thomson, Coffeyville

Red Raven sophomore quarterback Jakson Thomson was sensational in No. 10 Coffeyville's 65-20 defeat of Highland.  Thomson completed 14 of 23 for a career-high 315 yards and five touchdowns while leading the Ravens in a KJCCC victory.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Tra Thomas, Independence

In a game that the Pirates' defense came up big with six takeaways and two touchdowns to beat the No. 3 Broncbusters by 13 points, linebacker Tra Thomas led the way for the Pirates. Thomas accounted for six solo tackles, including a tackle for loss and a sack/forced fumble/fumble recovery. Both takeaways created by Thomas occurred in the fourth quarter to seal the Pirates. victory.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - C.J. Moya, Hutchinson

Blue Dragon sophomore kicker C.J. Moya had a perfect and busy night on placement attempts in Hutchinson's 55-6 win over Fort Scott. Moya was 7 of 7 on extra-point tries and 2 of 2 on field goals with makes from 22 and 23 yards. He only had one touchback on 10 kickoffs, but that was by design as Fort Scott fair-caught eight of those kickoffs at or near the 25 yard line, keeping the Greyhounds pinned back throughout the game.
