Kellen Mitts, a former Red Raven Baseball player, returned to Coffeyville Community College in the summer of 2021 to take over as the assistant Red Raven Baseball coach.

Mitts played at Coffeyville in 2004-06 and was part of the first Coffeyville team to play in the Region VI Tournament in 2006.

After Coffeyville, Mitts transferred to Emporia State and played for the Hornets in 2006-08.  While at Emporia, the Hornets were the MIAA Conference Tournament Champs as well as the 2008 MIAA regular season Champions.  After his playing days, Mitts was a volunteer assistant at Emporia State from 2009-10.

From 2011 through 2021 Mitt coached at stops at Butler Community College, Colorado School of Mines, Falmouth Commodores of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, and as an assistant baseball coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Overall, Mitts has coached 27 MLB draft picks and 9 big leaguers as well as dozen NCAA All-Americans.

Coach Mitts is married to his wife Christina and the couple has a son (Wilder) and a daughter (Maysa).
