Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Baseball team defeated the Highland Scotties, 10-6 and 7-2, in a home doubleheader.  With the two victories, the Red Ravens' overall record moves to 7-9 including a 2-4 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) record.  The 2-4 conference mark has the Red Ravens in sixth place in the nine-team KJCCC East standings.

Game 1

Game #1 saw the Ravens come from behind with a big sixth inning.  Coffeyville was behind 6-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Ravens were able to plate 6 runs to take the 10-6 lead.  Coffeyville went on to secure the 10-6 seven-inning victory.

Raven sophomore Trey McClelland along with freshman Orlando Gonzalez both pounded out doubles in the game.  Gonzalez had four RBI's and Raven freshman second baseman Drew Cates had two.

Raven lefthander Chat Hays was the starter for the Red Ravens going four innings allowing three earned on seven hits and four strikeouts.

Game 2

Coffeyville in game #2 jumped out early scoring four runs in the first two innings to take the 4-0 lead after two.  The Ravens tacked on another run in the fifth and two more in the sixth for the 7-2 victory.

Trey McClelland was active again at the plate knocking a two-run home run to help fuel the Ravens' offense.

Right-hand freshman Zackary Cushing went six strong for Coffeyville on the mound allowing two earned on five hits and five strikeouts to earn the win.

Coffeyville will return to action on Thursday, April 1st with a home doubleheader scheduled against Barton Community College.  Game times at Walter Johnston Park are scheduled for 2:00 and 4:30 p.m.
