Keith “Boo” Richardson

Boo Richardson came to Coffeyville after a successful high school career at Wyandotte High School in Kansas City Kansas.

While in high school, Richardson was a four-year starter who earned All-City honors all four years.  Richardson was named first-team All-Conference both his Junior and Senior years as well as being named Co-MVP his Junior year and MVP his Senior year.  In his senior season, Richardson averaged 20 points and six assists.

After high school, Red Raven head Coach Jay Herkelman signed Richardson as a freshman for the 2004-05 season.  In Richardson’s two years at Coffeyville, the Red Ravens compiled an overall record of 59-12 which included winning two Conference championships. 

Richardson was outstanding in his sophomore season in 2006 for the Red Ravens as he averaged 15.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while totaling 88 steals and 190 assists with only 92 turnovers.   As a sophomore, Richardson was named the Region VI Player of the Year and claimed All-Jayhawk Conference and All-Region VI honors.  Coffeyville completed the 2006 season with a 33-5 overall record including a seventh-place finish at the NJCAA Tournament.  After the 2006 NJCAA National Tournament, Richardson was named First Team NJCAA All-American.

After Coffeyville, Richardson signed with Illinois State University in Normal Illinois.  As a junior, Richardson played in and started all 31 games for the Redbirds.  Richardson was named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week three times during the season as well as notching his first career double-double (20 pts & 11 asts).  As a senior, Richardson started all 35 games averaging 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game and recorded double-digit scoring in nine games on the season.

Richardson is currently coaching at the High School level as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at J.C. Harmon High School in Kansas City KS and is the founder of A1 Basketball Training located in Kansas City KS.
