Angela Lackey
1996-98
Women’s Basketball

Coming from Eastern High School in Louisville Kentucky, Angela accomplished some pretty exceptional goals while a Raven.

As a freshman At Coffeyville in 1996, Angela was very excited to play for the Ravens with an ultimate goal in mind. That was to eventually graduate and get a Division One Scholarship to play basketball at the highest level.

In her freshman year, Lackey played very sparingly as she learned the game on the college level. Although she wasn’t a starter, she was able to contribute with the minutes she was allowed.

Angela has made it into the record books due to hard work and determination and a host of great teammates along the way. Under Coach Craig Brookover's guidance, he pushed Angela to limits she didn’t know she could reach.

Angela had a record-breaking 921 points in a single season and reached a second-highest in two years at Coffeyville at 1273 points total. She was also a First Team NJCAA All-American in the 1997-1998 school year. Angela was also All-Conference in 1998, All-Region VI Tournament Team and All-Region. Coffeyville won the region in the 1997-98 season and stamped greatness into history.

With such a great team and total effort, Angela had over 60 scholarship offers and chose the University of Arizona for her next stop in her basketball career. She was able to continue dominating and earned all All-PAC 12 honors and averaged 16.6 pts a game her senior year. After college, she played professional basketball in Denmark, Italy and Israel. Angela says Coffeyville will forever be a part of her heart because the Ravens gave her a shot to follow her dreams.

Lackey currently lives in Beaverton Oregon and works for Nike in Innovation and Production.
