Tayla Greene

2013-15

Coming from Rockledge High School in Rockledge FL, Tayla Greene accomplished many goals in her time as a Red Raven.

As a senior in high school in 2013, Greene was able to place fifth at the Florida State Track and Field meet in the Discus, throwing a distance of 110 ft and 11 inches.

As a freshman at Coffeyville in 2014, Greene won the NJCAA Outdoor National Title in the Discus with a school record of 52.47m/172ft. The following track season in 2015, as a sophomore, Greene placed second at the NJCAA National Outdoor Meet in the Discus.

However, Greene’s best events ended up being the Weight Throw and Hammer throw. Events not contested at the High School level.

As a sophomore in 2015, Greene won the NJCAA Indoor National Title in the Weight Throw with a mark of 17.80m/58ft. Later that same year during Outdoor season, Greene went on to win the NJCAA Outdoor National Title in the Hammer with a mark of 59.70m/195ft, breaking another school record as well as setting the All-Time Junior College record.

All in all, as a Red Raven, Greene was a 3-time NJCAA National Champion and 5-time NJCAA All-American in the Weight Throw, Hammer and Discus and was named the United States Track and Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Year following the 2015 indoor season.

Greene went on to finish her college career at the University of Central Florida on a full scholarship. While at UCF, Greene qualified in the Hammer for the NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships in 2016 by placing 6th in the preliminary round earning NCAA Honorable Mention All-American.

Since leaving UCF, Greene has become a successful business owner. While also volunteering her time and skills to help high school students develop their skills in throwing.
