Track & Field
1998-2000

Born and raised in Coffeyville, Jeremy was a competitor from the start.

Jeremy Hull had a strong high school junior season winning all but one meet in the pole vault. The one meet was the prestigious Kansas Relays, where he placed third. To finish the season, he ended up setting the SEK league and FKHS school records while winning the state championship with a state-best jump that year of 15’.

Jeremy’s senior year in high school saw him set the school record at his first meet of the year and then upping the record throughout the season ending with a 1998 Kansas state best 16’. Plagued with a minor injury the bid to win back to back state titles came up short with a second-place finish.

From the day Jeremy signed his letter of intent with Coach Brad Weber at CCC, his goal was to win a national championship to go along with his state championship. Having a solid teammate in David Hassell to train with, Jeremy and David both qualified for the Indoor national championships early in the season. This gave Jeremy the ability to relax and concentrate on the end goal of winning a national championship, and he was able to train extremely hard all the way up to the Indoor Jayhawk conference and Indoor NJCAA National Championship. The training paid off as he placed second in the Jayhawk conference championship. Although most would be happy for second, this wasn’t enough for Jeremy, and he committed to winning the NJCAA Indoor National Championship. Which is exactly what he did, winning easily the National Championship, while clearing 15’8” and setting a Coffeyville Community College school record.

During outdoor season he continued his winning ways winning the KT Woodman Invitational over some major division one competitors. Jeremy was also able to earn the Outdoor Jayhawk Conference win in Garden City. At the outdoor NJCAA championships, Jeremy jumped to a 4th place finish in a monsoon rainstorm.

The fall of 2000 Jeremy transferred to The University of Kansas to become a Jayhawk. During his three years as a Jayhawk, he earned 5x all Big 12 and win several prestigious meets along the way. Notable performances were finishing 2nd at the National Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nevada with a Jump of 17’6.5”. Jeremy also finished first in the Kansas Relays Collegiate division win at 17’. Finally, Jeremy completed his career as a Jayhawk with a 17’6.5” best and an NCAA indoor provisional qualifier.

Not one to give up, Jeremy continued to jump post collegiality scoring a career-high jump of 18’2”. He competed all over the world against some of the top elite vaulters and trained at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California in 2004. Post collegiate highlights included 2nd place in the USPVA grand Prix series and finishing 2nd in Hot springs Arkansas to American record holder Jeff Hartwig. At the age of 30 after 16 years of jumping, he hung up his spikes.

Although Jeremy hung up the spikes, he still hasn’t lost his competitive or no fear attitude. This competitive nature has brought him to BMX racing. Where once again Jeremy is very successful and has placed 2nd at the 2016 USA BMX Grand National’s and won the 2018 Canadian Grand Nationals. On top of this, his hobbies include working with his brother Rob building race cars, working on the family farm, and adventures all over the country with his wife and kids.

“I’m truly honored to receive such an award. None of this could be done without the great support of my parents allowing me to chase my dreams and my family and coaches that supported and guided me along the way. Thank You All.”
