The #2 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Volleyball Team opened their season on Thursday with a dramatic 5 set home loss to Kansas City Community College.
The match was back and forth with KCK winning the first set 25-20. Coffeyville fought back in the second set and was able to win it 26-24 to even the match. The third set saw KCK pull back ahead with a 25-19 third set victory and take a 2-1 set advantage. The Red Ravens did not go away easily and were able to tie the match by taking the fourth set 25-21. The fifth set saw Coffeyville jump out to a quick 4-0 lead, but KCK responded and was able to take win the match (3-2) with a 15-9 fifth set victory.
Next up for the Red Ravens will be a road match to Highland Community College on Saturday, January 30th. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
