The Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens traveled to Highland Kansas on Aug 30th and 31st to play at the Highland CC Volleyball Tournament.
The Ravens played Iowa Lakes CC and Ellsworth CC on Friday (Aug 30), followed up by playing Ottawa JV and NEO on Saturday (Aug 31).
In those 4 matches, the Red Ravens did not lose a set sweeping all 4 teams 3-0 in their respective match-ups. This moved the Ravens to a commanding 5-0 on the season. Dating back to last season, the Ravens are on a current 11 match win streak.
Over the early season (5 games) stat leaders for the Ravens include sophomore Faith Simpson with 53 kills followed by sophomore Seliann Concepcion with 44. Sophomore Danelle Dodge leads the team with 74 digs followed by Simpson and Cencepion with 35 each. Sophomore Erianna Murray leads the team with 10 blocks followed by freshmen Caitlynne Hudgens with 9. Freshmen Chloe Price and Simpson are tied on the team with 13 service aces each. The NJCAA has released its first NJCAA div II women's volleyball rankings for 2019 and the poll has Coffeyville ranked second behind Parkland CC. The full poll can be found by clicking HERE!
Coffeyville returns to Highland CC this Wednesday (Sept 4th) to kick off the conference schedule by playing Highland CC and will then return home to host the Red Raven Invitational this Friday (Sept 6th) and Saturday (Sept 7th) in Nellis Hall Gymnasium.
The Ravens will play Metropolitan CC at 3:00 and Indendence CC at 7:00 on Friday (Sept 6th) and will play NEO at 3:00 and Neosho CC at 7:00 on Saturday (Sept 7th).
