Delice Downing Wins NJCAA Division II Coach of the Year

Head coach of the 2018 National Championship Red Ravens, Delice Downing, has been named the 2018 Tachikara NJCAA Division II Coach of the Year.

This season, the Red Ravens captured their second consecutive NJCAA DII Volleyball national title in Charleston, WV, making their third national tournament appearance in school history.  In her 14th season as head coach, Downing has built a successful program at Coffeyville from the ground up.

Coffeyville's second national title win came in a dominating fashion, winning the national tournament without dropping a set.  The Red Ravens advanced to the national tournament as the No. 1 seed after winning the District N championship.

Finishing the season with a 40-3 record, the Red Ravens held the No. 1 spot in eight of the ten NJCAA DII polls this season.  Downing's team accumulated a 0.339 hitting percentage, good for second in the NJCAA.  They also ranked third in team kills per set (13.25) and assists per set (12.61).

Coffeyville landed three players on the NJCAA DII All-America First Team - sophomore setter Dekyra Dennis, sophomore outside hitter Adianez Reyes Rivera, and freshman outside hitter Seliann Rodriguez.
