Back at #1, Red Ravens Sweep NEO

The Red Ravens entered tonight's match against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College with a record of 26-2, making them the top ranked team in the nation. The Ravens came out of the gate fast taking a quick lead of 10-4 over the Golden Norsemen before they finally called a timeout. A very one sided set, the Ravens took a commanding 20-14 lead before NEO would took a time out. The girls would go up 24-16, but NEO would show fight on the set point and score two to make it 24-18, but the Ravens would finish this set off before their opposition could make a come-back, winning set one, 25-18.

Set two was an eventful one with NEO striking first but the Ravens aren't the number one team in the nation for no reason, showing no signs of giving up. The five lead changes between the two teams would make for an exciting set until CCC would pull away to go up 18-15. The Ravens were up 24-19, set point, but again NEO wouldn't go down without a fight as they scored one point but the Ravens overpowered the Golden Norsemen to win set two, 25-20

NEO struck first in set three but CCC took over a commanding 9-4 lead. NEO took a timeout, down 13-7. Ravens came out of the break soaring, going up 20-13. Kamryn Smith and Lauren McKinney were a brick wall up front not letting anything through, blocking spike attempt after spike attempt. The Ravens took a 24-17 lead, making it match point.  The girls were not toying with the Golden Norsemen this set though, not allowing another point to win set three and the match, 25-17, getting the sweep, 3-0.

The Red Ravens will take the court again Wednesday, October 10th at 6:30 PM on the road against the Red Devils of Allen County.
