Ravens Down the T-Birds in Straight Sets

Ravens Down the T-Birds in Straight Sets

The gym was loud on October 3rd in an exciting match where the Red Ravens took on the T-Birds of Cloud County. The first set was an exciting one, a back and forth effort, until the T-Birds took a 19-17 lead. The Ravens took a timeout to talk things over and that seemed to do the trick because CCC turned it on and tied the set up at 22. They gave up one more point, then scored 3 straight to win the set first 25- 23.

The Ravens took over set two, scoring the first five points. The T-Birds called a timeout down 10-6 but that didn't help much because the Ravens caught fire after the time out in the second set.  Blocks were huge for the Ravens, it seemed like the T-Birds couldn't get the ball over the net without a flock of Raven hands there to meet their spike. CCC went on to win set two, 25-19

In the third set the gym was alive, the bench was popping, and the girls were good. Not letting the T-Birds take a lead since early in the first set, CCC continued the theme and kept the points rolling.  The T-Birds made the set interesting, tying the set several times, but the Ravens defense kept the T-Birds at bay taking over late in the set, getting the match point, and the sweep, 25-18.

The Ravens are back in action on Friday and Saturay to compete in the DMACC Tournament.
