Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team opened up their Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) season on Wednesday night with a home match against the #12 NJCAA-ranked Butler Grizzlies. The Red Ravens looked good early on while taking their early season shot at a NJCAA ranked team, however, the Ravens ultimately fell to the Grizzlies 3-0.
Butler netted two goals in the first half to take a 2-0 halftime lead and added a third goal in the second half to post the 3-0 victory. Coffeyville played hard but was only able to manage three shots on goal to Butler's 16.
Coffeyville will return to action with a road matchup against the Cougars of Barton Community College on Wednesday, September 4th. Kick-off in Great Bend Kansas is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
