
Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team sank the Vikings of Jefferson College 3-0. With the victory, the Ravens improved their overall record to 4-7.
This game was decided in the second half. All three of Coffeyville's goals were netted late in the second half of play. The Ravens' first goal came at 15:25 left to play as sophomore Thayline Teixeira took a pass from Yazmin Baird-Watson off of a corner kick and deposited it into the back of the net to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead.
With 8:11 left in the contest, sophomore Polly Hogg lifted a ball high into the box that Teixeira took and whirled around with the right leg and scored a high goal past the Viking goalkeeper to extend the Raven lead to 2-0. To finish off the Vikings, freshman Keyesha Sibbles netted an unassisted shot with just over two minutes remaining to give the Ravens the comfortable 3-0 victory.
Coffeyville will return to action on Wednesday, October 4th as they will travel to Great Bend KS to play the #7 NJCAA-ranked Barton Cougars. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Great Bend.
