
Coffeyville, Kan. - The #20 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team earned a KJCCC victory with a 2-0 home defeat of the Conquistadors of Dodge City Community College. With the victory, the Red Ravens improve their overall record to 6-1 including a 2-0 record in KJCCC matchups. Coffeyville has now won four shutouts in a row. The Ravens so far have not allowed a goal in the month of September.
Red Raven freshman forward Thayline Teixeira provided the offense in this one for Coffeyville as she netted both goals in the 2-0 victory.
Teixeira's first goal was an unassisted goal just barely four minutes into the match to give the Red Ravens a quick 1-0 lead early in the first half. Teixeira's second goal came at the 64:00 mark of the second half with a nice assist by Raven sophomore Sheryssa Saasuldin to give Coffeyville a two-goal lead heading into the last 25 minutes of the match.
Dodge City had a couple of chances late, but Coffeyville's back line held and the Ravens earned the 2-0 victory over the Conquistadors.
#20 Coffeyville will look to extend their four-match win streak as they will hit the road mid-week with a match against the #7 ranked Butler Grizzlies that is slated for a 6:00 pm start in El Dorado Kansas on Wednesday, September 14th.
