Talley Comes Out Hot, Women Beat Cowley

The Red Raven women's soccer team played at home on Wednesday night against Cowley Community College. The Ravens started off their attack early getting their first goal with just five minutes into the game. Ashley Talley carried the ball into the box, managing to take a shot which would be saved by the keeper, however, Talley was right there to shoot the save into the back on the net. Talley would get onto the stat sheet again with another goal less then five minutes later. A short corner would find Talley at the corner of the box and her shot would see the ball hit the crossbar and cross the line for a goal. Cowleys only goal on the night would come in the second half of play. A free kick hit into the box would see the ball pushed back into play by the goalkeeper and the runner would put the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-1 with 20 minutes left to play. This brought the game alive, however, the Red Ravens would not let this bother them. With six minutes left in the game, the Red Ravens would get the final goal of the game. A pass from Gabriela Rodriques would put Christine Kitaru into space and she would chip the ball over the keepers head to make it 3-1. The Ravens are back in action this Saturday at Johnson County.
