Candice Followwell will be entering her first season as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and Student Life Manager for Coffeyville Community College.
 
Followwell spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Iowa Central Community College Women’s Basketball program. Coach Followwell’s other duties included working as a Housing Coordinator for Iowa Central.

The Women’s Basketball Program took a step in the right direction finishing the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 17-15, league play record of 8-6, and earning the third seed for the Region XI tournament. The Tritons made it to the Final Four before bowing out in the Semi-Finals of Region Play.

Coach Followwell also helps monitor the academic welfare of the student-athletes. This past season her influence helped produce 14 Academic All-Region Players, a 3rd Team Academic All-American, and the Tritons also earned status of Academic All-American Team.

The 2017-18 Women’s Basketball Team had two 2nd Team All-Region players, and numerous other significant contributors on the floor.

Coach Followwell played basketball for the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith all four years of her college career.

  • 2012-13: Started 15 of the 26 games she played ... Averaged 4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game ... Was second on the team with 71 assists and 34 steals ... Had 5 blocks.
  • 2013-14: Started 20 of the 26 games she played ... Averaged 6.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game ... Had 71 assists ... Had 51 steals ... Had 2 blocked shots.
  • 2014-15: Was third on the team in scoring with 9.9 points per game ... Was second on the team in rebounding with six rebounds per game ... Led team with 93 assists ... Had six blocks ... Led team with 73 steals ... Led team with 48 3-pointers ... Was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. 
  • In the 2014-2015 season she helped lead her team to a Conference Championship, as well as the Conference Tournament Championship. UAFS gained its first berth into the NCAA DII Tournament where they made it to the round of 32. 
  • 2015-16: Started 23 of the 30 games she played in ... Was third on the team in scoring with 7.5 points per game ... Was second on the team in rebounding with five rebounds per game ... Led team in assists with 3.5 assists per game ... Shot 35 percent from the field and 79.2 percent from the free-throw line ... Was Heartland Conference Player of the Week. 
  • Earned the Grit Award

Followwell received her Bachelors Degree in Marketing and plans to obtain her Masters Degree in Sports Management.
