
Goodland, Kan. - The #21 Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Basketball Team rebounded from their loss to the Butler Grizzlies with a 79-53 defeat of the Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Technical College. With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 9-2 including a 4-1 record in KJCCC matchups.
The second and third quarters are where Coffeyville was able to grab the victory from the Mavericks. Coffeyville outscored Northwest Kansas Tech 20-7 in the second quarter and 25-16 in the third quarter on their way to the 79-53 victory. Coffeyville's inside game took it to the Mavericks as the Ravens outrebounded Northwest Kansas Teach 50-28 while Coffeyville also maintained a points-in-the-paint advantage of 34-18.
Red Raven sophomore guard Kyleigh Ortiz lit up the three-point line going 5-7 from behind the arc for a team-high 15 points. Sophomore forward Ivy Fox pitched in 13 points while grabbing 7 rebounds and sophomore guard Bailey Layman rounded out the double-digit scorers for Coffeyville with 10 points.
Coffeyville will play their last December game this season on Wednesday, December 6th with a home matchup against the Saints of Seward County. Tip-off in Nellis Gymnasium is set for 5:30 p.m.
