Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Basketball Team added another ranked opponent to their victory list as they defeated the #17 NJCAA-ranked Barton Cougars 59-50. With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall 2022-23 record to 9-3 including a 5-1 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) games.
Coffeyville started the game quickly jumping out to an 8-0 lead midway through the first quarter and ended the quarter leading 18-11. The Ravens also outscored the Cougars in the second quarter and headed into halftime with a 35-22 lead. Barton put in a run in the fourth quarter but the Ravens were too far ahead and Coffeyville ended the game with their second straight win over an NJCAA-ranked opponent with a 59-50 victory.
Red Raven sophomore guard Kennady Roach led Coffeyville with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Sophomore forward Jordynn Conner added 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Coffeyville returns to the court Wednesday, December 7th with a road game against the Hutchinson Blue Dragons. Tip-off in Hutchinson on December 7th is set for 5:30 pm.
