
Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Ravan Women's Basketball Team defeated the Bethany College JV 67-33. With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their early season overall record to 3-1.
The Red Ravens were a little sluggish out of the gates holding a 9-4 lead after the first quarter and a 25-17 lead at halftime. However, Coffeyville found their groove in the second half outscoring the Swedes 42-16 in the second half while cruising to the 67-33 victory.
Coffeyville's sophomore center Cheyenne Banks was an anchor in the middle for the Ravens pouring in 16 points while grabbing 10 rebounds for the double-double. Freshman guard Kyleigh Ortiz added 11 points while freshman guard Oliwia Dyja added 10. Freshman point guard Tetona Woods-Blackowl added 6 points and dished out a game-high 9 assists.
The Red Ravens will return to action this Friday, November 11th as they will play NEO at Independence Community College. Game time against NEO in Independence KS is set for 5:00 pm.
