Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Women's Basketball Team defeated the Cowgirls of Connors State 72-54. With the victory, the Lady Ravens improve their overall 2021-22 record to a perfect 6-0.
The Lady Ravens looked impressive in this one jumping out to a 27-8 lead to start the game. Coffeyville outscored Connors in the other quarters as well, but that big lead from the first quarter gave the Ravens some breathing room for the remainder of the contest.
Coffeyville had three players in double figures including sophomore forward Faith Simpson who posted a nice line of 16 points and 9 rebounds, along with second-year players Devin Wright and Nakia Cullom who both contributed 13 points each. Red Raven point guard Dariauna Carter posted 6 points along with dishing out 10 assists.
Next up for the Lady Ravens will be the start of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) schedule as they travel to Arkansas City Kansas to play the Tigers of Cowley College on Wednesday, November 17th. Tipoff at Cowley is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
