Apparently, Red Raven Volleyball All-American Faith Simpson also has some basketball skills. Simpson's 28 point, 18 rebound performance helped power the Red Raven women's basketball team to a 74-55 home victory over the Allen County Red Devils. With the win, the Red Ravens improve to an overall record of 22-5 and 12-5 in KJCCC action. The 12-5 KJCCC record has the Ravens currently sitting atop the KJCCC East standings.
The Ravens jumped out early on the Red Devils, outscoring them 22-8 in the first period. From that point on, the Ravens cruised to the 74-55 victory.
Along with the big night from Faith Simpson, sophomore Alana Kramer was also in double figures with 11 points and Raven freshman Kailyn Lay also added a good stat line with 4 pts, 4 rebounds, and 9 assists.
Coffeyville will return to action with a short road trip north to Independence KS for a Wednesday night (Feb 12th) matchup against the Pirates of Independence Community College. Game time is set for 6:00 pm.
