Red Raven Women's Basketball Continue Hot Early Season Start, Move to 6-0 on Season

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven women's basketball team continued their hot start to the season with two more victories over the weekend.  The added victories pushed the Red Ravens overall record to an outstanding 6-0 on the season.

The Red Ravens started the weekend with a matchup against Hesston College on Friday night (Nov. 8th) at the Crowder Classic in Neosho Missouri.  The Red Ravens dominated the Larks of Hesston, winning 89-33.  Red Raven sophomore Julia Calafell was a sharpshooter on the night going 8 of 14 from behind the arc for a game-high total of 26 points.  Other Ravens in double figures included sophomore Hannah Murphy with 19 and sophomore Alana Kramer with 11.

The Ravens finished off the weekend with a 68-56 victory over Lyon College JV at the Crowder Classic on Saturday (Nov 9th).  The Ravens seem to be taking turns being the "go-to" shooter each night.  Against Lyon College, the "go-to" badge passed to two players.  Sophomore McKenzie Murrel-Patton had a game-high 20 points off of 4 of 8 shooting from three-point land and sophomore Hannah Murphy had 19 points on 5 of 9 shooting behind the arc.  Combined, the two Ravens shot 9 of 17 from three-point land in the win.

Next, the Ravens look to add to their early-season winning streak with a home game scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 12th against Bethany JV.  Gametime in Nellis Gymnasium is set for 5:30 pm.
