The Red Raven Women's Basketball team won their 2019-20 home opener, defeating Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa 68-60. The win pushes the Ravens early season overall record to 3-0.
Against Tonkawa, Coffeyville's key was opening each half up with big opening quarters. The Red Ravens outscored the Mavericks 20-10 in the first quarter and a huge 31-16 in the third quarter. Even with being outscored in the fourth period, the Ravens were able to hold on for the 68-60 victory.
Top performers in the game for Coffeyville were sophomore Ania Markowska with 19 points (4/6 from 3 pt) and 9 rebounds along with freshman Tynica Gilmore with a 14-10 point rebound double double.
The Red Ravens will return to action in Nellis Gymnasium on Wednesday, November 6th with a 5:30p date with cross border rivals NEO.
