Great Eight Red Ravens

Recent injuries to Nalon Smith, Adelina Carr, and Kaylee Brown shortened the bench for women's basketball head coach Stephen Harrel; but to lose those three and big shooter Lucy Burke chopped his roster to only eight as the Red Ravens took on the Red Devils of Allen County.

However depleted his bench, coach Harrel never let it affect the gameplan.  On the opening drive, Tatiana McCree drained a three pointer from the corner to put the Red Ravens on top for good.  Receiving her first start of the year, freshman T'era Fullove rewarded Harrel for the move.  Fullove led all scorers with 17 points, while going 3/8 from behind the arch and pulling down 4 rebounds.

The Red Ravens also received an In-N-Out type performance from sophomore Alexis Wooden as she ordered a double-double with a side of animal fries.  Wooden posted 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 blocks.  Eight of Wooden's rebounds came from the defensive side, halting any second chance efforts from Allen.  Wooden shot 5/8 from inside the paint and 5/6 from the free throw line.

Harrel's team also grabbed 10 steals on the night, led by The Limit, Sky Jasper with three.  As consistent as Jasper has been all year, the sophomore produced another strong performance by scoring 9 points and pulling down 9 rebounds.

With the bench so shortened, several players logged significant minutes that Red Raven fans weren't accustomed to seeing.  Cedreanna Lee, Sarah Guntin-Barreiro, and Mauri Scales all saw at least 8 minutes in the game, with all scoring at least one point and grabbing at least one rebound.

Looking to avenge a loss earlier in the season, the Red Ravens will host rival Independence Community College on Saturday at 5:00pm.
